Paladin’s portfolio of epoxy curing agents comprises of phenalkamine & its adducts, polyamides, phenalkamides & its adducts and cycloaliphatic amine adducts.
Phenalkamines
Paladin’s phenalkamine curing agents are produced by carrying out Mannich reaction of cardanol with formaldehyde and polyamine. These phenalkamine curing agents that are based on renewable biomass present several advantages. This includes fast cure at low temperature, good chemical resistance, moisture tolerance, non-blushing properties and good surface appearance. Furthermore, the long hydrophobic side chain on cardanol imparts excellent flexibility, surface tolerance, good pot life, excellent water and sea water resistance. Additionally, these phenalkamine resins with strong hydrogen bonds are able to adhere to poorly prepared surfaces as well as wet surfaces since the side chain inhibits water from interfering between surface and resin.

Polyamides
Paladin offers a series of low to high viscosity reactive polyamides which are reaction products of higher polyamines and dimerized fatty acids. Polyamides when cured at room temperature with epoxy resins provide an excellent combination of hardness, flexibility, chemical and solvent resistance. Our reactive polyamides provide extended pot life, low colour and good UV stability, making them suitable for top coat applications.

Cycloaliphatic Amine Adducts (PALAMINES)
Paladin’s Palamine series, offering low colour and viscosity, is comprised of modified cycloaliphatic amine adducts for epoxy resin based lacquers and coatings. These products can be used with liquid epoxy resins or modified epoxy resins to obtain high solid, self-levelling floor coating formulations. Palamines provide good film hardness and excellent gloss along with superior chemical and mechanical properties, making them suitable for industrial applications.
